This is how it all begins

So here we are... I thought this moment would never arrive.

Susie and Toto is finally LIVE and what a journey it's turned out to be.

When I embarked into this new adventure I honestly thought I had lost it. With no real experience in launching a business from scratch, I wasn't really sure what I was meant to be doing and how long it was going to take me to sort everything out. But then it was thanks to people who are really close to me and believed in what I could do that I took the courage of jumping in and going with the flow... and here I am now, with a new brand identity that I absolutely love and the start of something new that I'm really proud of.

People may think 'What is this guy thinking? Why should we trust a young chap to know what kids should really wear?'... and you're totally right, why should you?

Well, I honestly hope that coming from a huge Italian family that has been working in the industry since 1940, and whose passion for fabrics and Italian manufacturing has been an inspiration for my entire life, could hopefully be enough. I can only wish you'll trust me, and my fashion eye, in cherry-picking garments for the little ones that I hope you will all love.

When I thought about Susie and Toto, I really wanted to celebrate the 'Made in Italy' trademark and all that comes with it. Made in Italy is not just a label that you see within a garment (unfortunately less and less these days), it's that craftsmanship that I've learnt to appreciate by spending years walking around my family business and seeing so many people loving what they do. I've learnt many things from my dad - who has managed to work in this sector for more than 40 years - but if I had to pick one thing that's inspired me to launch Susie and Toto it would be something that he told me when I decided to move to London :  'Work can really make people happy but that's if they truly LOVE what they do'  ... Well, I can honestly say that I'm doing that just now!

I grew up appreciating the simple things in life and this is a principle that I've taken with me and cherished all along. It's within simple things that I see beauty and class - from design and technology to arts and fashion. With one of my idols being Steve Jobs, he once said 'Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication' and I couldn't agree more. This is something that inspires me every day and it's something that I tend to apply in everything I do.

It's from these inspirations that Susie and Toto really came to be.

As a result, I went through a meticulous process to choose the right brands for the site. All of our partners spend a lot of time and energy to find the best fabrics and the best manufacturing companies in Italy to deliver items of clothing which are of the best quality possible for our 'little customers'. Being a premium product you will obviously expect a higher price tag, however I truly believe that if you compare our prices with the competition we actually provide much better value.

Having previously spent 7 years working in social media, I also understand the importance of both listening to customers and establishing meaningful relationships with them - so if you have any feedback, you want to share something with me or simply want to have a chat, I'll always be here ready to chat to you. I'm Italian after all... :)

I hope this is just the beginning of something great and I want to take this opportunity to thank those special people who have been close to me from DAY 1 and have made all of this possible... you know who you are!

So, this is how it all starts!

Fingers crossed, you'll be with me all the way.

Until next time... CIAO!
